Laura Schmidt (she/her) (MSW, BSW, RSW)

I have worked in the perinatal field for over 24 years, long before I began my personal journey through motherhood, and every day since then. I love working with perinatal clients, recognizing that this season in our lives is profoundly transformative, full of both immense joy and sorrow, hope and heartache. All at the same time. We can hold all of these feelings as we struggle to figure out who we are in new roles while holding on to ourselves and loved ones, and perhaps return to who we once were.  I personally know the struggle, having been through two traumatic births, coming out the other side, and raising two beautiful children.

I’m a therapist specializing in Perinatal Mental Health, parent – child relationships and attachment, anxiety, depression and trauma.  I am committed to helping clients feel better and find hope in their own journey through fertility, pregnancy, grief and loss, becoming a parent, and beyond.  I work in partnership with my clients to hold space for them, help them feel better, develop better coping strategies, heal trauma and move forward.  My work focuses on targeting unhelpful thoughts, exploring how anxiety and emotion show up in the body, and treating trauma, whether it be from the past, or more recently.  I believe in a collaborative and client centered approach to help clients reach their goals.
